About Glenda
Glenda would describe herself primarily. as a wife, mother, mother-in-law,and grandmother, and most importantly, as a born-again child of God, having accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the
age of nine.
The daughter of a bi-vocational preacher, Glenda, at an early age, became aware that God is real and that He desires to interact with His children.
Glenda began writing English Verse in high school, and has written hundreds of poems in the years since. A number of them have been published in Ideals Magazines.
Due to the fact that her husband’s job included moving to different locations, Glenda’s employment opportunities have varied greatly. In addition to several leadership roles in churches, schools, and civic activities, she has been secretary to two churches, doctor’s assistant in a clinic, family/patient assistant in the trauma center of a large hospital, planning/zoning commissioner, deputy clerk of
courts, city alderman, women’s editor for a daily newspaper, and field/contributing reporter to two other newspapers.
Though at the time there seemed to be a lack of focus in any one field, looking back it is clear to see how God used each position and the many people she encountered to mould her to fit His plans for her life.
In addition to writing poetry, Glenda has written material for retreat workshops, children’s plays, Bible studies, and devotionals, many of which are included in this blog. In sharing them, it is her prayer that readers will be encouraged or challenged by their messages.
It is with grateful heart that Glenda presents the following material which has been laid on her heart to share. The title, "7 Minutes Alone with God", came to her many years ago. The number "7" does not refer to the length of the manuscript, but rather was chosen because that number in the Bible represents a whole, 100% of something, such as 7 days make a full week. Some days we cannot find much time to devote to Bible reading, but God is able to teach us as much in a few moments as He can in an extended period of time. Therefore, whatever time we have is the perfect amount of time.
To be in an attitude of learning is the most important quality needed for our quiet time with God,.
