One-Stop Shopping
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16). Are you a bargain hunter? If so, you probably find yourself searching ads in local newspapers for the best prices. In the past, you then had to go from store to store to take advantage of the bargains. How convenient that many stores now offer to match their competitors’ advertised prices, making one-stop shopping for many items, possible. In this there can be seen an analogy of the Christian life. When our desire is to mature as God’s children, we realize we must study to do so. However, unless we are careful in our quest for knowledge, we can become like the harried shopper who scurries from place to place in search of things that are actually available in one location.
