No Need to Fear

God is our refuge and strength.  An abundantly available help in trouble.   Therefore we will not fear   (Psalm 37:39-40) Each day we face a new section of life’s pathway. Though we make plans, there is no way to prepare for every challenge that lies ahead.  If we dwell on the possibilities, we may become frightened, and fear that we lack the ability to meet them. Fear is the great destroyer of confidence and courage.  It erodes our sense of well-being, and robs us of many good things God has promised. Things such as peace, joy, and contentment. As children of God, we need not allow fear to control our thoughts, words, and actions, even if it has done so in the past.  Fear loses its power when, in faith, we look beyond ourselves and our own abilities to the strength and wisdom God offers: My flesh and my heart fail but God is the  strength of my heart and my portion forever (Psalm 73:26) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him a...
