God's Unconditional Love

I am persauded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities
 nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth
nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us
from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord
 (Romans 8:38-39)

God loves us. Period. No ifs, buts, or whens about it.  No matter how unlovable or undeserving we feel, His love for us is stable, enduring, and unconditional.

When we are productive, He loves us.  When we accomplish nothing, He loves us.
When we are cheerful, He loves us.  When we are depressed, He loves us.
When we are gracious, He loves us.  When we are sharp-tongued and critical, He loves us.
When we are busy serving Him, He loves us.  When we are apathetic, He loves us.
His love is neither earned nor deserved.  He just loves us because He loves us.
Nothing and no one (not even we) can destroy His love for us.  Nothing. No one. Ever.

This concept isn’t easy to grasp in a culture where everything seems to come with a price tag and nothing lasts forever.  What a life-changing truth to embrace when faced with changing values, fickle relationships and conditional acceptance.

Are you basking in the warmth of God’s love?  Or do you need reassurance that you are a recipient of His perpetual love?  Affirmation can be found throughout the New Testament:

In this the love of God was made manifest (displayed) where we are concerned:
in that God sent His Son, the only begotten or unique [Son],
into the world so that we might live through Him.  In this is love:
not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son,
 to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins
(1 John 4:9-10 Amplified Bible)

But God shows and clearly proves His [Own] love for us by the fact that
while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us
(Romans 5:8)

Lord, this love of Yours cannot be measured or compared to anything;
Human minds can never fathom all the joy You want to bring
to our lives if we will let You. If our hearts we’ll open wide,
we will feel the warmth and comfort of Your loving touch inside.
Yes, Your love, dear God, is matchless in this world in which we live.
Though we feel we need to earn it, You simply want to give.
Remind us that Your love is with us regardless of our worth;
Help us feel Your loving Presence all the days we live on Earth.
